Our paths crossed during our college days, all thanks to a simple video. Chey saw a friend of a friend dancing and was immediately intrigued, asking her mutual friend Steven, "Who is your friend?" Chey was adamant about meeting him the very next day, and as if by fate, we ran into each other outside the Butcher Center. Steven made the introduction, and when Chey heard the words, "My name's Byron," it was a wrap. What began as a friendship quickly blossomed into a relationship three months later. Our first day together was on a leap year, February 29, 2020, so Byron loves to joke that we've only been together for a year. Since that memorable day, we've been inseparable.
Chey thought she was planning a simple brewery day with family to celebrate her mom's birthday on June 22nd. Little did she know, Byron had a different plan. His goal was to recreate a picture we had taken at Bear Chase Brewery. But fate had other ideas when a nearby accident cut the power, forcing a last-minute change of plans. Quickly pivoting, we ended up at 2 Silos, which turned out to be the perfect location since we can go back anytime. As our loved ones watched, we posed for a photo on a giant beach chair. Byron, nervous as ever, told Chey to stand back-to-back, dropped the wedding band (but thankfully not the ring!), and asked her to marry him. The easiest "yes" of Chey's life was followed by hugs and cheers from our closest family and friends. Now, we can't wait to celebrate with all of you!
