My friends like to joke how lucky I am that love just hopped into my car. <3 Daniel and I both work for HCA, on different teams in Internal Audit. One (lucky) November day, we got paired to go to a recruiting event at UT together. We had never met at work before, but Daniel hopped into my car, and we went to pick up the rental car. Then he drove us to Knoxville where we proceeded to grab a beer at Half Barrel before the recruitment dinner, followed by trivia at Cool Beans, before driving all the way back to Nashville. We spent twelve straight hours together the first day we met and never ran out of things to talk about. We joke that the only recruiting we did that night was recruit each other (sorry HCA). But seriously, we had the best time together, and once we had our first official date on December 1, 2018, we were inseparable. And the rest is history...

On the anniversary of the first day we met, we had dinner plans with friends. What I didn't know, was while we were at dinner, Daniel had a group of my best friends turning the backyard into an engagement oasis (lights and candles everywhere, even a crackling fire)! When we got back to the house after dinner, we went into the backyard, and I was completely surprised. I think I kept saying "oh my gosh" a thousand times while we walked down a candlelit pathway. He got down on one knee - I may have blacked out - but I do remember saying "YES!" We kissed and hugged (I can't believe I didn't cry); Maggie tried to get in on the hug, and it was the happiest moment. I asked who did up the backyard, and Daniel pointed me to the back gate and told me to see for myself... I opened the back gate and all my besties were there to surprise me! Then more of our close friends and family joined us at the house to celebrate! It was perfect. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with all of you. The mountains are calling!
