About 2 blocks from Gay Street and Market Square (walkable). This area of Knoxville is filled with historic architecture, trendy restaurants, a Scottish bar with live music on the weekends and the US's largest selection of rare Scotch whiskey. There is also a small club that plays 80s, 90s, and early 2000s music!
Known for its extensive brewery scene. Not exactly walkable from downtown, but worth checking out if you have a little extra time. Our favorites: Xul, Schultzbrau, Crafty Bastards
A bit of a drive (about an hour) but ABSOLUTELY beautiful. Trails include a portion of the Appalachian Trail. Just next to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. There are endless hiking trails (weather dependent). There are also scenic "driving hikes" at Cades Cove, Roaring Fork, Newfound Gap, etc. Please note it is usually about 10-20 degrees cooler in the mountains than in Knoxville, please use caution whether driving or hiking!
The quirky beach towns of the south! About 40 min to an hour outside of Knoxville by car. The Ripley's Believe It Or Not Aquarium, shopping, dinner shows, and other attractions.
