Like many modern love stories, ours began with a swipe on Tinder. One day, my friends and I were planning a trip to the gun range, and on a whim, I asked Maxwell if he wanted to join us. To my surprise, he said yes. Then, just as quickly as the plans came together, my friends backed out. Most people probably would have canceled too, but not Maxwell. Even with the change of plans and the short notice, he was still willing to drive all the way to Snellville just to meet me. When he arrived, the gun range was packed, so we decided to make the best of it and walked over to a nearby Mexican restaurant instead. Early in the date, I laughed and jokingly said that I needed to take out my teeth to eat(my braces). Without a second thought, I placed my Invisalign in a cup of water and left them there for the rest of the evening. Somehow, instead of scaring him away, it became one of those unforgettable moments that still makes us laugh today. Over tacos and conversation, we talked about everything. The hours seemed to disappear. When dinner was over, neither of us was ready for the night to end, so we wandered through downtown Snellville talking even more. Maxwell later admitted that he was completely captivated by me from the start. In fact, when we finally made it back to my car, he leaned against it and lingered, finding every excuse not to leave. Of course, years later he would jokingly claim that I "catfished" him—but somehow he kept coming back anyway. Just two days later, we met again and hiked Stone Mountain. From that point on, being together felt effortless. We quickly became inseparable. A few months later, we welcomed our greatest adventure—our beautiful son. Through every challenge, every lesson, every laugh, and every milestone, we continued choosing each other. What started as a chance meeting on a dating app became a friendship, then a partnership, then a family, and now a marriage. The rest, as they say, is history.
