We came together over a simple request for my phone number. I thought nothing of it. We'll talk here and there, no big deal. Let him tell it, he knew our end from our beginning. He said I was trying to play hard to get. Honestly, I don't think either of us was expecting to connect the way we did. Through those conversations it became evident that, on the exterior we may appear to be polar opposites, internally we share some of the same core values. He stole my heart with his compassion and care for my needs, always putting me first. He's always doing little things to let me know he is thinking about me and that I'm appreciated. Honestly, I think that's how we captured each other's heart. I endeavor to uplift him, encourage him, push him and love him as the king that he is. Needless to say, on that cold February Valentine night, he caught me off guard with his proposal. I knew he had something up his sleeve because he can't hold water when it comes to my gifts. He had been talking about how much I was going to love my gift. I figured he was going to try something but in the moment when it happened I was not expecting it at all!! For those of you who have seen the video you can see the surprise on my face followed by the immediate tears. The rest is history. We've had our share of ups and downs but we always come out on top.
