Our Story
John and Megan met in undergrad at UChicago while living in the same dorm freshman year. First impressions varied after Megan witnessed John do a waffle eating contest...against himself.
The pair got together sophomore year. It's been rumored that Taylor series (see also: math) played a big factor. Truth is, we both decided it was worth getting French toast at 7 am - even though neither of us are morning people. Twelve hours and three parking tickets later, our first date was in the books. Turns out we’re both breakfast people.
We will be celebrating ten years, will have lived in three cities and explored four continents together by the time of our wedding.
04.16.22 - We got engaged Easter Weekend in Big Sur! People always ask how it happened. Megan likes to rephrase the question as how he got away with it.

May 2022 - John’s new passion is skiing. He went from greens to black diamonds in his first season. Megan occasionally tags along for the aprés-ski. If anyone asks she’s learning how to snowboard.

03.17.22 - St Patrick’s Day exactly one year before our wedding day. Very excited to meet this puppy.
Feb 2022- We own a car! Our first joint asset!
Dec 2021 - Hyde Park. Paying homage to the one and only.
November 2021 - Lake Tahoe. Plus one for team West Coast
October 2021 - Tennis in Hawaii, moments before Megan gets heat stroke.
August 2021 - Vancouver Islands. We love celebrating love!
July 2021 - Swan paddle boats in LA Oracle Park, as lovers do.
July 2021 - Our annual trip to Palm Springs. Hopefully this is representative of our future retirement.
Thanksgiving 2020 - A very COVID Thanksgiving. FaceTiming Jake, our officiant, while he teaches Megan how to make an apple pie! We don’t know why Johns hand looks like a baseball mitt.
October 2020 - Golfing in Hawaii, a Covid past-time for Megan.
August 2020 - Megan’s sister’s wedding in NYC, where John and Megan lived for five years.
January 2020 - Louisville, KY. Some would say we clean up nice!
October 2019 - Our first time riding Rebbl scooters in Brooklyn. Megan delights in being driven and John (usually) happily obliges.
July 2019 - Too cheesy of a picture to post anywhere else except a wedding website.
July 2019 - Medellin, Colombia. Some would confirm we clean up nice!
July 2019 - We’re on a different boat! This is before John got very seasick.
March 2018 - Paris. Not that creative when it comes to photo booth pictures so we will not be having one at our wedding…
September 2017 - John makes it all the way to China with Megan, where he met her extended family, drank a lot of baijiu and climbed Huangshan.
March 2017 - Miami Open! Did you know John plays tennis?
July 2016 - John is glad that he lives to tell the tale after driving this treacherous mini speed boat, a birthday gift experience from Megan.
NYE 2015 - Ice bar in Miami for New Years, which is a special holiday for us as our unofficial official anniversary.
06.13.15 - Despite all of our senior year shenanigans, we graduated! Megan moved to NYC two days later and John followed in August.
March 2015 - Rain or shine. Glamping in Peru as we made our way to Machu Picchu.
March 2015 - Made it from the bottom of the valley to the top of Colca Canyon, Peru.
July 2014 - John visits Megan in NYC, during her summer internship.
Spring 2013 - We’re on a boat! This marks the start of a long history of dates on boats, as documented here.
Winter 2013 - One of our first dates ice skating in Soldier Field. John’s first Christmas present to Megan was a pair of fleece lined ice skates to keep her toes warm.
