Go on safari while in the area. Nambiti Private Game Reserve is less than 2 hours from our wedding venue and has the big five. Nambiti is also close to the renowned KwaZulu-Natal battlefields. One of its major drawcards is that Nambiti is situated in a malaria-free area, meaning that you don’t have to take medication before visiting. There are various accommodation lodges to stay in depending on your price point. Please let the bride know if you are wanting to visit as shuttles services are available.
Phinda Private Game Reserve
A 3 hour drive from Durban airport (King Shaka International), Phinda is another gorgeous safari to consider. It also offers the big five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino) as well as cheetah. There a various lodging options available on their website.
Nelson Mandela Capture Site
The Nelson Mandela Capture Site just outside of Howick commemorates the arrest of the former South African President in 1962. The onsite museum portrays Madiba's life and his role in the transformation of South Africa.
