Question

How can we make the most of our trip?

Answer

We suggest flying into or out of Cape Town and spending a few days here before or after the wedding. Cape Town is the most beautiful city in South Africa and you will not be disappointed. We also suggest adding a short safari trip to your stay. Nambiti is the one we recommend due to its proximity to the venue of the wedding. You could also fly into Johannesburg and make a trip to the Kruger but you will need to account for more travel time here. Please reach out to Michelle michelle@hashtagholidays.co.za if you'd like help planning. Please remember that December is peak season in South Africa, so we highly recommend booking early to secure the best experiences and make the most of your trip!

Question

Dress code

Answer

As mentioned, it’s going to be baie warm (that’s 'very hot' in Afrikaans!), so while tuxedos and heavy dresses are welcome, they’re not recommended. Our wedding will be held outdoors, and we’d love for everyone to embrace a formal/smart yet comfortable style—think blazers, linen suits and elegant, flowy dresses. Ladies, we suggest skipping the stilettos, as you'll be walking on grass and gravel at times. Opt for block heels, wedges, or stylish flats instead!

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

It is peak South African summer so you can expect daily temperatures of 30 degree C / 90 degree F and up daily. The midlands can also be unpredictable so you may want something warm for the evenings. Additionally, the evenings and early mornings may be cooler on safari or in the Cape so bring a light jacket.
