Emily and Christian met on May 20, 2017 at the top of Arapahoe Basin. The ski resort has an annual event entitled "Beach Day" where guests wear their best beach attire and hypothetically can enjoy the sun due to the late-season climate. However, on this particular Saturday, in MAY, an unexpected storm surged and the weather was snowy with a high of 25º and a low of 19º. Christian and his friends wore Chubbies swimsuits, suit blazers, and a tie with no shirt, while Emily and her friend wore tutus, fairy wings, and leggings. See below! Emily caught Christian's eye and he approached her at the top of the lift with the opening phrase "How about a kiss at the bottom?" Emily quickly obliged, and "raced" (her words) to the bottom. As the time passed, Emily grew more impatient, believing that Christian had stood her up. Then, just as her fleeting enthusiasm for this man dwindled, Christian came swooping in and exclaimed "So are we going to kiss?" They indeed kissed. From 2017 - 2020, Christian and Emily remained casual friends. Emily moved to Arizona, then Texas, and Christian to Brooklyn, New York. Separated by distance, Emily and Christian stayed in loose contact before both moving back to Colorado, the state that always had their hearts. Emily and Christian started dating in October of 2020, and have lived a thousand lives since. From traveling to different countries, buying a converted van, hiking 14ers, backpack camping, outdoor rock-climbing, and recently buying a proper home in Northglenn, Colorado, it is unbelievable to think that they're just getting started. A truly unique love story. On February 22nd, 2025 Emily and Christian privately eloped in the mountains. A video of the ceremony will be shown in July at the celebration. See you in Colorado at the Happily-Ever-After Party!
