The Old Port is known for being Portland's historic district, as well as its culinary center. There are many restaurants and bars, all within walking distance of hotels and other attractions.
Portland is home to many local breweries. Some favorites are Allagash, Rising Tide and Oxbow.
Take a ferry out to Peaks for a few hours! The ferry terminal is located in the Old Port, and you can rent bikes and get lunch once you're on the island.
The Portland Area has many great hiking trails, both urban and nature. Hiking is a great way to explore the area, and treat yourself to some incredible views.
