Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE)

MKE is around 10 miles (20 min. without traffic) from downtown Milwaukee. How to get from MKE to downtown Milwaukee? Bus: Two lines on the Milwaukee County Bus System service the airport, utilizing a stop that is on the airport grounds midway between Arrivals and Departures. Exit the doors at Baggage Claim Exit 1; $2.25 and only cash is accepted. Coach USA’s Wisconsin Coach Lines Bus: picks up and drops off passengers just outside of Arrivals, near Baggage Claim Exit 2. The Airport Express Route is a 25-min. trip between the airport and downtown; the fare is $8 each way, and tickets can be purchased in advance. Train: The Hiawatha Amtrak line runs several times each day between downtown Chicago and downtown Milwaukee. There is a station near Mitchell International Airport (Amtrak code MKA) accessed by an Amtrak shuttle at the airport. Hop on the shuttle to downtown Milwaukee (Amtrak code MKE) and pay $8-$9 one-way or $16-$18 round-trip. It is a 15-min. ride.

O'Hare International Airport (ORD)

For those flying into O'Hare (Chicago), there is a direct bus (Coach USA) departing from O'Hare Terminals 1,2,3 and arriving at Milwaukee, WI - Amtrak. Services depart hourly and operate daily. The journey takes approximately 1 hr 45 min; costs $21 - $35.
