Things To Do

Matt and Chelsey love traveling and one of their favorite places to go close to home has been Brown County, Indiana. We first visited the area together in January of 2019, only a couple months into our relationship. Since then, we have returned to Brown County over and over. Below is a list of our favorite places to visit and favorite things to do. If you have some extra time over Labor Day weekend, these are the places worth visiting!

Brown County State Park

1801 Indiana 46, Nashville, IN 47448

One of our two favorite spots to go for a hike. Matt and Chelsey recommend the CCC trail, the Strahl Lake trail, and the Discovery trail. If you feel like sticking to a scenic drive, then check out Hesitation Point.

Big Woods Pizza

44 North Van Buren Street, Nashville, IN 47448
, (812) 988-6004

You can't go wrong with any of their pizzas!

Country Heritage Winery - Nashville

225 South Van Buren Street, Nashville, IN 47448
, (812) 988-8500

If you like dry wines, Matt and Chelsey recommend a glass of the Marechal Foch or Itasca. However, this winery has lots of great sweeter wines too! Children are allowed inside so long as accompanied by an adult.

Nashville Daily Grind

114 South Van Buren Street, Nashville, IN 47448
, (812) 988-4808

We stop into the shop for coffee or tea every single time we are in Nashville. It's become our little tradition!

The Wild Olive

37 West Main Street, Nashville, IN 47448
, (812) 988-9453

Chelsey loves their olive oil! She recommends picking up a bottle of the Garlic infused olive oil, since it is amazing.

For Bare Feet Too

40 West Main Street, Nashville, IN 47448
, (812) 988-7144

Matt loves their socks! Chelsey believes their collection of University of Michigan socks could be larger.

Bird's Nest Cafe

36 Franklin Street, Nashville, IN 47448
, (812) 720-7040

Looking for an amazing brunch spot? This is the place to go but be sure to get there early or make a reservation!

Yellowwood State Forest

772 Yellowwood Lake Road, Nashville, IN 47448

Another of our favorite spots to go for a hike. Chelsey and Matt recommend entering via Yellowwood Lake Road and then hiking the Yellowwood Lake trail over to the Resource Management trail to learn a bit about the forest. Alternatively, having a picnic and enjoying the lake view is nice too!

Brown County Antique Mall

3288 Indiana 46, Nashville, IN 47448
, (812) 988-1025

Always a fun place to stop in at if you have the time!

The Barn At Timber Ridge

400 Hornettown Road, Morgantown, IN 46160

This is our venue! We wanted to include it on this list so you can see where it is in relation to other things in the area.

For all the days along the way
