On a Thursday during junior year of high-school, Jared asked Katie to meet him at Coffee Bean. Katie had to run an errand that day and told Jared he was welcome to walk with her to her friends house to get a pair of clothes she was borrowing. An hour of walking and 3 more hours of conversation at Coffee Bean later, Jared was suddenly quiet. Katie noticed this change in his demeanor and asked what was wrong. Jared replied with a question... THE question, 'So is there anything between us?' to which Katie replied: "no". Jared's heart sunk, and Katie could see it on his face, she suddenly realized what Jared might have meant by asking that question; and she inquired "Jared Greer are you trying to say that you like me?" to which Jared replied "yes, I do like you and if I could I would like to date you". He then gave Katie a second chance... "so is there anything between us?' to which Katie replied (correctly this time), 'Yes'. And the rest is history! Two Winter Formals, Two Proms, Two Colleges, and Four years later Jared popped the question.

It all happened on June 27th, 2020. Jared was taking Katie on one of their all day dates, only this one would be quite different from the rest. The day started at a place that held highschool memories for the couple when their dating years had first begun, the Lakebed in Yorba Linda. Here, Jared had a picnic set up complete with cinnamon rolls and strawberry lemonades, the meal the two had for their first Valentines day. From there, it was on to the next location. The day consisted of 4 locations in total, each with holding its own memory. Clues were left at each stop for Katie to guess where they were going next. A stop by Sherman gardens, then Pirate's Tower in Laguna Beach where Katie found a message in a bottle, which led to dinner on the beach with a view of the coast line. The final stop had held a once favorite memory of Katie’s that was soon to replaced by this one. A Gazebo hanging over the cliffs at Fisherman’s Cove decked out in lights and rose petals. Jared took Katie by the hand and they danced to the Hawaiian Wedding Song and once the song had finished, Jared got down on one knee and popped the question. Katie said 'YES!' and the rest is history.
