Trotwood is the on-site restaurant at Glen Falls House and offers simply delicious food with lots of items sourced from their own garden. It's a great place to relax and have some good grub before hitting The Tavern for a little party time across the road. Wahoo!
Fish & Game
We've been here many times but the most special experience was the night we got engaged. Incredible food + wine including a cacio e pepe pasta that rivaled the ones we had in Italy! Definitely make a reservation. (25 mins from Glen Falls House)
Back Bar
For those who want something a little more laid back and casual for dinner (or a pre-dinner snack/cocktail) this spot is fantastic with Malaysian-inspired fare + solid drinks. They have a patio too, and it should still be nice enough for a chill evening out there. Enjoy! (No reservations, but you could call if you are trying to go in a large group to give them a heads up.) 25 mins from GFH.
Lil' Deb's Oasis
FUN is the name of the game here but they also won one of Bon Appetit's Best New Restaurants titles when I was working there. Features Carribean-inspired food, island cocktails, music, and vibes, vibes, vibes. Call or email for reservation for 6 or more. rez@lildebsoasis.com
Wm. Farmer and Sons
This was another special spot we visited on the night we were engaged. Terrific food and vibes in their cozy candlelit dining room. Solid cocktails and a variety of items including an oyster bar, sharable apps, local fish and meat dishes. Ressie's are available via OpenTable: http://bit.ly/2KJs1JD
The Maker Lounge
Still going after dinner in Hudson and want a sexy cocktail in a spot with a speakeasy vibe? Oh yeah, this swanky ass bar is ALSO where we came the night we were engaged. Go ahead and order something stiff—it's worth your money. FYI: Closes at midnight.
Gaskins
A quick 30-min drive from Glen Falls House, Gaskins is a local fave and has supremely delicious farm to table food from a husband and wife team. You can't go wrong with the menu, no matter what you order. If you want to go in a large group, I would call to try to arrange that.
River Grill at The Stewart House
The River Grill is the in-house restaurant of The Stewart House Inn in Athens, NY. About 25 mins from GFH it's known for tasty local cuisine from Chef Bob Turner.
