Alex and Chaz met back in June of 2020 during the height of the COVID lockdown. While there weren’t many options for date nights at the time, one place stood out to both of them, their favorite restaurant, Tons. What started as their first date spot quickly became a tradition, with visits at least twice a month. From the beginning, they bonded over the little things: watching the same shows, sharing favorite meals and taking walks through each other’s neighborhoods. Living only a mile apart made it easy to spend nearly every moment together, making them inseparable. On September 23, 2020, they officially began dating and fell more in love with each other every day that went by. After three years together, they took the first big step in their relationship and moved in together on March 31, 2023. Just two months later, they adopted their dog Lemon and started their little family together. Lemon brought them even closer, giving them someone to care for and love together. With all of the incredible milestones they had already shared from moving in together, adopting Lemon, and traveling the world, Chaz knew it was time for the next step. On March 23rd 2025, he brought Alex back to Tons, the place where it all began. After enjoying dinner together, they grabbed frozen yogurt and sat outside talking about how much they loved each other and how grateful they were for the life they had built together. As the evening continued, they took a sunset walk around the lake. It was there, during the sunset, that Chaz got down on one knee and asked Alex to marry him. Now, they can’t wait to celebrate the beginning of their next chapter together with you as a married couple in their favorite city, Tokyo.
