Maid of Honor
I walked into my Auntie Relle’s house like any typical day at 2, almost 3 years old, and she was holding her new precious daughter there. I was already sharing my favorite person, and now she was telling me the baby in her stomach was here. My spotlight of being the baby girl was now being taken over, and I was promoted. What was immediate devastation turned out to be the best little sister that one I could have asked for.

My brother from another mother! We go way back to a time before iPhones ruled smartphones. We may be from different wombs but we sing the same tune.

My aunt told me she was having a baby. I was young so I did not quite understand what that meant. Well all of a sudden my aunt comes home with Chaunielle and I thought ahhh, the betrayal. I was coloring and asked my aunt “why is your baby was soo white?” My aunt yelled back “my baby is black.” I continued coloring but responded with “oh” never looking up. Little did I know Chaunielle would be my sister cousin and we grew to love and care for each other with a great bond. I wouldn’t trade her for the world.

The bride and I met in our kindergarten classroom. During our kinder times, we established a great friendship that blossomed into sisterhood for life. We have truly lived our lives together and I can’t wait to see how her life continues to shine bright as she says "I do".

Bro was one of the first people I met when I went to college about 9 1/2 years ago. We had a big friend group and a bond that kept us close through the best and worst of times. I’m happy to able to see him love and be loved. Congratulations!

We met a long time ago at a horrible place to work, and soon found out we lived in the same neighborhood. We began carpooling and would have frequent beach dinner dates. Eventually I risked my life and convinced you to learn to drive and you are now a menace on the road thanks to me.

My CocoPuff. We met at SOAR our freshman year of college when we both couldn’t get any classes!! In that moment I knew I had met my match. We practically spent everyday together for the next two years growing an unbreakable bond. The adventures, early morning clean up sessions, our late night dindins, freaking LOLA and moving Cali in. All some of the best most unforgettable moments. I thank you for giving me such a genuine friendship no matter where distance takes us. You were once my wife and now it’s time to be someone else’s and I can not be any happier for you!

My mom and Auntie Relle were friends who met at work before I was born. When I was born, Chaunielle was saying to Auntie Relle that she wanted a sibling. Auntie Relle said "Perfect! Railene just had a baby, that's your brother now." I have called her Sister since I could talk.

We’ve known each-other since 5th grade. From the moment we were assigned the same home room, we’ve been inseparable since! My sister from another mama.

I was about 2 years old when my Auntie Mani brought me across the street to hang out. Nielle was in high school auditioning for the step team, and I was soo intrigued about what she was doing. I decided to join in, and ever since “Twan” and I have been stepping through the years together.
