I was in Miami feeling myself and decided to post a swimsuit photo on Instagram. Jovel just so happened to be scrolling by on his timeline and not only liked the photo but commented several fire emojis under the photo. Quick background story: We both went to college at SFA together and I had a crush on him and he never knew it. We were just acquaintances in the same organization, and never grew from there. Soooo flash forward to now, I see him, my college crush, commenting under my photo. I let the Miami vibes and liquid courage take over, and I slid in his DMs and asked him out lol the rest is history. Our first date was instant connection. I felt like I was talking to my true match. Our dates always feel like the type of dates they base movies off of. We can never stop laughing and talking, jinxing each other, having long talks about the menu, pretending to be food critics. It's always so fun. After only 3 months of dating, we knew we wanted to get away together. We were both stressed from work and needed a vacation. It was also July and our birthdays are only 1 week apart, so we booked a spontaneous vacation to a resort we found last minute on Expedia....TRS Coral Hotel. As soon as we got to the resort, we were treated like royalty and had the greatest time. Our relationship grew so much while we were there. We realized we loved the same music and vibed to Snoh Aalegra the whole time (you will hear her often at the wedding). We turned up together for our birthdays. TRS Coral Hotel made our birthdays such a lit experience and we were vibing so much off of each other, that we ended the night with me having to carry him up the stairs y'all lol On the last night of the vacation, Jovel brought out a Ring Pop ,that I still have to this day, and asked me to be his girlfriend. Now here we are, coming back to TRS Coral Hotel to be married!! Since then, Jovel and I have grown so much. We've survived long distance when I moved to San Antonio for travel nursing. We have watched our families bond and grow together. We have watched each other grow in our careers. We have bought a house. We have furnished most of the house and turned it into a home. We have gotten a puppy. We have accomplished so many things together, and it has been amazing ride with an amazing partner. We can not wait to continue to do this FOREVER.
