What to Expect From The Wedding

Fall Harvest

Run away with us and escape into the northern forests during the peak of Autumn. We are going to be camping under the open night sky, and we hope that our guests will join us, though there are indoor beds available. We will have communal camping gear for those who need it. Upon a mountain, a large field allows a beautiful view of the distance from the tennis court where the reception will take place, behind which hides a thicket of trees, and a clearing in which we will wed. We will have merriment and revelry, dining and dancing, a fire and a guitar, and maybe even some late night games inside. We hope you will all dress for yourselves, be comfortable and ready to let loose!

The Proposal

In-Tents

He proposed in our tent, as we hugged each other fiercely, never wanting to let go. He had no ring, but he had a plan. He sprung the words on me amidst tears of joy. Without a second thought I breathed, "Yes, please!" We ordered our rings together, beautiful carved wood with inlays and antler that was sustainably harvested from a small company called Ring and Grove. I used a rose gold flake, he a double brass inlay. I didn't expect to be getting married before 30, heck, I didn't expect I would marry ever. But here I am, happier than I thought possible. ~R

The very beginnings

Swimming in the sea, 2017

He found me first, picked me out from the online sea like a red buoy on the horizon. Yet nothing happened until I noticed his (99%) as I scanned my list of recent voyeurs. One click and suddenly I was consuming his bio as if it were tinder for a dying flame. We didn't match, and I was surprised, as he had already seen me. Well, I couldn't message him without a match, and so I waited... Lo' and behold, he sent me a message! T'was A beautifully thought out tomb that rekindled my flame in an instant. Our conversation blossomed, everything seemed to click into place, and yet it was many moons before we decided to take the plunge. You see, we lived very far apart. But how could we go on like this? So I suggested a place, and he drove out to see me at a little Thai place on a hill in Lunenburg, and I waited for him on the back of my car in the parking lot. I couldn't disguise my excitement. And that moment that he stepped out of his car was the first time we met, but it was like we already knew each other. From so much conversation, it seemed obvious this feeling would be natural. Yet somehow I looked at him and felt a familiarity that transcended all of our words, like I had found my home.
