Breckenridge has a fascinating history as an old mining town. Learn more about its past through walking tours of town, check out some of the saloons on Main Street, tour the Country Boy Mine, or walk the Iowa Hill Trail nearby. This trail is less than a mile long and showcases many old mining artifacts.

Quandary Peak is an excellent entry point into hiking 14ers. By no means does that make it an easy hike. The hike is 6.3 miles and you will gain over 3,000 feet of elevation during the climb. The trailhead is about a 15-20 minute drive from Breckenridge.
The Breckenridge Distillery is one of our favorite spots to grab a drink in the area. They do tours and tastings on the weekends if you make a reservation in advance. Be sure to try the Breckenridge Bourbon (Charley’s favorite) and the Espresso Vodka (Brooke’s favorite)! P.S. If you’re looking for something walking distance from town, they also have a tasting room on Main Street.
