"Jason, I'm going to take some cold and flu medicine and I should be able to make it through Game Night." I woke up that morning still sick. not feeling 100% and my body said," See if game night can be rescheduled." I didn't really want to because it was the first time that we'd planned an event for our families to meet one another, even if it was virtual. We'd been in the house for months isolated, dealing with panic, the unknown and being black in America, so we needed this. In my mind, I was ready, I was psyching myself up. my body however was still in bed. I knew I had to save all my energy for Game Night. I stayed in bed until 30 before Game Night begin. My plan was working, I saved all my energy because sick or not Jason is highly competitive and my brain had to be ready cause I had to win or I'd never hear the end of it, lol. (y'all know how he is) The teams have been set. The Hudson-Lewis household is divided between the basement and the dining room. The competition is about to begin. The Game? Family Feud. His sister Darnisha and his niece Dayna are our hosts and moderators. The questions are coming, the answers are given, the laughter is flowing. The next question will determine the winner, Jason and I are going head to head. "We asked 100 woman, What's the most romantic thing a man can say to you?" Char: I love you. Jason: Will you marry me? Char: Ahhh yeah, that's a good one. Jason: Char, did you hear what I said? Char: Yeah, I said that's a great answer. You won that one. Jason and everyone else: Char, Did you hear his answer. Char: Yeah Jason: Char, Char will you marry me? Char starting to get it finally, lol. in disbelief and confusion Jason runs up the steps, Will you marry me? Finally it sinks in, "Yes" My brain wasn't processing. I was in competition mode. He got me good y'all. We shared a few more laughs at my expense. I mean you have to laugh at that one. 🤣 😂 After we said our goodbyes to our guests, we enjoyed a romantic dinner downstairs. My Bestie, Michelle set up a beautiful table for us and Jason made sure I had my seafood and a great bottle of wine to celebrate our engagement. Yes, we got engaged during Covid with Covid. Now we are counting down until we do. We can't wait to share our day with you all. We are looking forward to creating more priceless moments with the people we love.
