Sunday best. But with dancing shoes!! But since our wedding will be in late February, some warm clothes wouldn’t hurt. If you plan to wear a dress, maybe some leggings underneath. If top and pants, how about a nice warm jacket? The ceremony is indoors and the reception is on an enclosed deck with portable heaters and all of our warm bodies on the dance floor. If you are too concerned, parking will be very close to the reception so gladly bring an emergency blanket to grab whenever.
Lane's Bend 2278 Hwy 70 E, Cookeville, TN 38506
The ceremony is at 4:00p. So a good time for guests to start arriving would be 3:30p. Anytime in that range works, but if we know anything, we will try our best to start as promptly as the time suggests for the ceremony and reception to follow.
Tennessee can be a bit unpredictable. So maybe it would be a warmer day for late February or really cold. Either way, we won’t let it stop us from celebrating!! As of now, we can’t predict the weather. But our continuous prayer leading up to the wedding day is weather that is best enjoyed with a warm jacket or with some warm friends. Preferably the weather we enjoyed on February 24, 2023 coming back from a Swing Dance Club event with our pink sweatshirts on.
Well I’m so glad you asked! One day many years ago, I (Charissa) saw someone pick a day to be married or engaged on a day that corresponded to the chapter and verses in scripture. As Evan and I started to discuss marriage, I went back to find any scriptures that could fit on a date in 2025. I then stumbled across Genesis 2 talking about the first human marriage in the Bible. “Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.” Genesis 2:22-25 Although we knew where the verses ended (25), we just picked some verses that would make our wedding fall on a Saturday, hence including verses 22 to 25. And there is it, 2.22.25 as a reminder to us the image of marriage made by God.
Yes…we know the venue is all the way in Cookeville, TN. A very special place in our hearts. It’s where we first met. The location of where we met our closest friends. And of course, the college town of Tennessee Tech (Tech Yeah!). With that being said, it’s about over an hour from Nashville. Not too bad but still a notable drive. If traveling outside of Middle Tennessee then we can’t guesstimate how far away you are. But luckily we have the help of Waze, Apple Maps, Google Maps, and so many more. If you have any traveling concerns, please let me us know. We would love to help in any way we can!
