Maid of Honor
Christa is my sweet big sister, incredible role model, and dear friend. I am so glad she will be standing next to me when I say, "I do." We share many wonderful memories: playing in our bedroom growing up, YouTube dance tutorials, and late night snuggle chats are a few of my favorites. She's a doctor which makes her a super helpful medical resource when you are studying physical therapy! Thanks for being with me all the way BIG SIS!
Best Man
Triston is my incredible brother who I also have the privilege of calling my best man. We have so many amazing memories together- from hunting mule deer in the mountains of Colorado, to playing football in the backyard (I am still not sure how we managed to play a game designed for 22 players with only us two!) I am so thankful that the Lord blessed me with such a fun brother. What an honor to have him in our wedding party!
Bridesmaid
Throughout the last four years Hannah has been a faithful counselor and an uproarious goof ball friend--it's a great combo. Soon, as a registered nurse, Hannah will bless her patients with that special combination of faithfulness and fun, bringing skilled care and a warm sunny smile to her patients. Also . . . drum roll . . . she's my FUTURE SISTER! So glad my brother met Hannah!
Groomsman
It is a blessing to have Caleb as a future brother-in-law! I am so thankful for how he loves his sister and how he has welcomed me into the Brown family. Currently, Caleb is applying to Ph.D. programs in philosophy and working in Lynchburg. He is also engaged to Hannah Grant- one of our amazing bridesmaids (and one of Charis' best friends!). I am honored to be gaining Caleb as a brother!
Bridesmaid
Abigail and I were "park day" buddies at the glorious age of 4 and have been fast friends since. We share many memories: sticking arare crackers on our faces, bamboo pole fishing, riding home from fieldtrips and stopping for McDonald's ice cream, dissecting pig brains, playing in the Malaekahana shore break, and studying Calculus at community college. Now Abigail's passion is flight, and she's flying high and fast as a flight instructor and pilot. I am so blessed by her friendship!
Bridesmaid
Arianna is my beloved one-and-only college roommate--we were a roommate match made in heaven! We both wanted to go to sleep early and get up early, exercise regularly, study hard, and appreciated an orderly space! I will always treasure our prayer times together each night. No matter if life was difficult or easy, Arianna always showed me how to trust God. So glad Arianna can be with me on this special day!
Groomsman
Kolton was my first roommate at Liberty University. He is the friend who knows something about everything and keeps me up to date on a wide variety of topics ranging from the microbiome to theology. He also loves the Lord as much as anyone I know. Currently, he is a senior at Liberty studying Computer Science, and is planning on serving the Lord in Minneapolis, MN after graduation. I am honored that he is part of this wedding party!
Bridesmaid
Emily and I did A LOT of college together. Loads of chatting while running on Liberty Mountain's trails helped balance all of the time we spent studying together in the library. Wickedly smart, highly analytical, spontaneous, and adventurous--she keeps me on my toes! I am so thankful for the influence Emily has on my life, and am super glad she will be living and working in Lynchburg as a statistician after graduation.
Bridesmaid
Last summer, Bailey's sweet, calm, little sister presence was a super blessing during the exciting-but-nerve-filled "whole family meet Charis in Loveland" visit! Now I can't believe how lucky I am to get to call her sister. She's an aspiring pilot, exchanging working in the horse stables for flight time with a local pilot--she's got some grit! I'm so excited she plans to be our Lynchburg neighbor in 2024--at LU's flight school!
Groomsman
When I think of Preston the word that immediately comes to mind is “loyal.” We became great friends in high school. One of my favorite memories with him is when he drove over to my house after a tough loss on the football field. I had been very disappointed after the loss, and his late night check in is a perfect example of the kind of friend he is.
Bridesmaid
Kylee! Try her at tennis and prepare to be humbled--even if she's your little sister and you're the groom! Kylee has definitely embraced the Mayes Family value of healthy competition! But that competitive spirit is joined with an incredible ability to welcome and include others. Last Christmas Kylee welcomed me to the family with a personalized "Charis in the Mayes Family" photo book. Can't wait to make and capture more memories with Kylee on Shutterfly!
Bridesmaid
Claire and Theo will be in our wedding party as newlyweds of three weeks! Congratulations, Claire! We met my sophomore year as fellow exercise science majors and honors students and soon became friends, enjoying swimming laps at the gym and lots of significant conversations. Fast forward a year, not only were we still excellent friends, but we'd begun dating guys who were also awesome friends! I'm so glad we will be newlywed wives together in this next season!
Groomsman
Theo and I met at Liberty, and he has become one of the most impactful people in my life. His love for the Lord and desire to make his name known has encouraged and challenged me continually over the last few years. He currently attends University of Lynchburg’s Physical Therapy School and is married to Claire, who is also in our wedding party.
Groomsman
Isaac is a great friend of both Charis and I. We met at Liberty where Isaac is completing a degree in mathematics. His love for the Lord and knowledge of His word is evident in his academic work, relationships, and involvement with the local church. I am honored to have him as a groomsman!
