We were friends for a long time before we dated...

There was your typical college fun...

Then Quinn hosted Madison for a few weeks during her college internship in D.C., where we started (still unknown to us) to feel that first spark of "more than friends."

But then, sadly, Quinn hurt himself playing basketball...

And when we did date, it was on and off...

But we finally stuck the landing and have been together since our last year of college!

We graduated...

(and right after graduation, Quinn raided our favorite candy shop in Berkeley)...

Madison moved to D.C. for her first job and Quinn, still in San Francisco, came to visit when he could...

At Great Falls, where we would later take our engagement photos!

Madison visited Quinn too...

And at one of our favorite restaurants in D.C., Le Diplomate, Quinn was eating steak frites and some got on his shirt and Madison realized she loved him and wanted to marry him. Snapped a picture!

We got backpacker pants in Thailand, and visited some beautiful temples in Cambodia (including Angkor Wat!) This was our first international trip together!

We started to learn that Quinn is focused in the kitchen and Madison is a messy disaster....

Thailand!

We took night trains...

And Quinn used his Chinese to order Madison vegetarian food in Shanghai, which was really just boiled rice (it was so tasty though)!

Madison decided to move to Boston for graduate school. Before she left Spain, Quinn came to visit again and we traveled to Germany and Austria together!

Hiking in Freiburg!

Madison moved to Boston in September 2018. In December she was diagnosed with Stage 2A Hodgkin's lymphoma. Quinn flew to Boston right away. We ate at Giacomo's for our "last supper" before chemo.

First day of chemo and last days of long hair.

Somehow, Madison felt good enough to ski in Maine the day after her first chemo.

Quinn flew back and forth from San Francisco for months at a time to be by Maddie's side. Madison also had an incredible network of friends and family helping her through.

In the final days of chemo and before radiation started, Madison and Quinn took trips around Massachusetts. Here we are in Rockport, where we got matching dog hats.

Last day of chemo! Madison had to ring a bell and say a poem. She cried - a lot.

And in Acadia National Park with friends a few days after Madison started radiation...

On September 5, 2019 Madison got the incredible news- her cancer was in remission! She has now been in remission for four years...

Back at Giacomo's to celebrate Maddie's remission- full circle.

Quinn moved to Boston right before COVID and during quarantine, we moved in together in a tiny apartment in Somerville. We spent so many weekends hiking in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

In quarantine, it was just us in our tiny apartment. We switched off making each other fancy meals and dressing up, and Madison learned to love the Legend of Zelda...

We celebrated COVID birthdays and did a lot of cuddling and catching up on board games, books, and movies. We tried for a while to watch every Best Picture winner and failed...

Quinn grew to share Madison's love of nature, hiking, and camping with dear friends. Sometimes, we even matched!

Quinn got into Broadway...

Madison and Quinn started to celebrate "life day" every September 5 by doing something active and celebrating our beautiful world. For our first, we backpacked the Presidential Traverse in NH!

Madison graduated- again- this time with a COVID Master's...

For Madison's second life day, we went kayak backpacking in Vermont!

Then it was time to move to D.C. Even though we desperately needed more space, it was hard to leave our small apartment where we spent COVID- and our amazing community of friends in Boston- behind...

We moved to D.C. in 2022, right as the cherry blossoms were in bloom. It was hard to leave our life in Boston but we were excited to see what D.C. would bring...

We created a little space for ourselves in D.C., our first home we decided to rent together...

We started to get our open water scuba license in Puerto Rico...

Madison got really into biking...

Quinn continued to put up with Madison's erratic driving...

Then on Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Madison proposed to Quinn unexpectedly- both to her and to him!

Then we were back in the U.S.! A month after Madison proposed, Quinn did too- while backpacking in Dolly Sods Wilderness, West Virginia with all of the fall foliage!

We celebrated our engagement with friends and family while also learning and growing together. We protested together after Roe v. Wade was repealed. Women's rights are human rights!

We learned to swing dance and returned to Glen Echo, an old theme park, to spend NYE 2023 dancing- Glen Echo is where we had our first kiss! Madison jumped into Quinn's arms a bit unexpectedly...

We took a trip to Banff and Glacier National Parks, where we encountered not one, not two, but three grizzly bears and turned around- fast!

Madison got to go to Geneva for work, so we took a quick side trip to Paris- pre-honeymoon?

The adventuring continued when Madison moved to Ecuador for three months for work, and Quinn joined for the first half! Hiking in the Ecuadorian highlands is a dream.

Moved to Quito for a bit together!

Made some new friends...

Visiting Cuenca, Ecuador where we ate some very good food and finally put those salsa dancing skills to the test...

Backpacking the Quilatoa Loop...

Small planes to the Galapagos Islands!

We learned to dive in 2021 and were able to put our skills to the test in the Galapagos!

Quinn designed his first video game and showed it at a showcase in D.C.!
