Like so many busy professionals, Nate and Chantal met under the classiest of circumstances. Online. Chantal started with the innocent joke "KC? Bummer man." This was her subtle attempt to make light of the fact that they would probably never meet because they lived in different cities on opposite sides of the state. Nate took this as her dogging his city and almost didn't respond. Thankfully for both of them, he did respond (and worked in St. Louis every week). The two scheduled their first date for the next week. Chantal picked Felix's Pizza in Dogtown. Chantal mentioned her date to two friends at dinner the night before. They joked that they would come supervise the next night. The next night, fifteen minutes before the date, Chantal received a text from the friends confirming that Nate had just walked in and "looked normal." Much to her relief, he was normal. Much to his relief, she picked a date spot with pizza and beer- two of his favorite things. Much to both of their relief- Nate did not know that her friends were on the date spying. Two slices and a few pints turned into three years and hundreds of slices and pints. Felix's still remains a special place for them.
