Flying to Mexico
If you plan on attending the wedding events, we encourage you to book your flights sooner rather than later. There are two airports that service the San Miguel area: Leon (BJX) and Queretaro (QRO). Both airports are a little over one hour away from San Miguel and are a safe drive. Travel can also be booked into Mexico City (MEX) which is about a three-hour drive away. (1) The Aeropuerto del Bajio (BJX) also known as the Leon-Guanajuato Airport located 110 km (about an hour and 20-minute drive) from San Miguel. (2) Aeropuerto Internacional de Queretaro (QRO), located 75 km (about an hour and 10-minute drive) from San Miguel de Allende.

Transportation to San Miguel de Allende
There are a few options for getting you from the airport into SMA: hire a group or private shuttle, grabbing a taxi, or renting your own vehicle. If you plan on doing some exploring outside of San Miguel de Allende, you might want a car. Otherwise, walking and using taxis is the most efficient means of getting around in SMA, as parking can be challenging. If you do rent a car, be sure to have pesos before you leave the airport as you'll need them to pay tolls on the way. Shuttle services and private drivers should be booked in advance. BaijioGo BaijioGo provides direct transportation between your home or hotel in San Miguel de Allende and one of several nearby airports. BaijioGo's shuttles service the León (BJX), Querétaro (QRO) and Mexico City (MEX) airports 24 hours a day. It is about $30 per person each way - Ideal for couples or solo travelers.
