Yes, there most certainly is. Don’t even think about keeping it simple. Iris Apfel said it best; “more is more, and less is a bore.” This is your very chance to dress as extra as you possibly can. We want you dressed head to toe in mismatched patterns, bright and vibrant colors, and tacky aesthetics. If that’s too much for you, go the Wes Anderson route. This is heavy monochromatic schemes, dusted colors, and classic silhouettes. The style is clearly defined in his films, so watch a couple of them to catch on. And, of course, if what we’re describing isn’t enough of a challenge for you, then go full-out camp. This is not wilderness apparel; this is an aesthetic style that regards something as appealing because of its bad taste and ironic value. It's sometimes compared to “kitschy” or “flamboyant” aesthetics. Google “camp fashion” for more information. Regardless of what you choose to go with, be sure that it's classy, colorful, and extra. Ring Claire if you need help.
As we prepare to leave the States for full-time travel in September, we have slowly found that material items are absolutely horrific to us. Please, we beg you, to only present cash gifts, Venmo gifts, and Airbnb gift cards. (Venmo: @clairechang20 or @chad_tetz)
We are aware that we are in the midst of a pandemic. The wedding isn't until August, and we are hoping that COVID-19 is less of a problem then. But, of course, we are keeping a close eye on it, and will most definitely postpone the date if that is what's safest for our guests. We want everyone to stay safe and healthy, and to enjoy this event without immense worry for your own (or other's) well-being. As of now, we have purposely chosen to have plated meal options, rather than a buffet, and we will provide hand sanitizers around the venue. We are currently sticking closely to our chosen date of August 2, and don't plan on postponing it unless the virus becomes far worse in the summer. So, we say, get ready for a fantastic weekend with us! And, please do RSVP by May 1, 2020, and attempt to committing 100% to attending if you say you will, as we will be making specialized seating charts.
We're pretty sure we've included all possible kids on the invitations, so yes, we would love to have them! Please do not bring other random kids that we do not know, or that are not yours. Also, please keep in mind that alcohol will be served at this event, and once the dance floor opens at 7 PM, this group of mostly art students will be very hype. If you would prefer your child to not be in this high-energy environment, you may, by all means, end the night early and leave before the dancing begins.
The dinner menu will be released in early May, after the RSVP deadline. As of now, we know it will be a three-course, red-meat-free menu, including fresh coffee, tea, and dinner rolls with butter. There will be gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options available.
If your invitation includes your partner's name, then of course! If not, we would prefer if it was just you. Thank you for understanding.
We will begin the ceremony promptly at 4:30 PM, so you may arrive anytime before then, as early as 4:00 PM.
Metered parking is free on Sundays (which just so happens to be the day of the wedding). If all metered parking spaces are filled, there is a parking lot adjoining Soho South Cafe (not owned by the venue) and a parking deck across the street, both available for self-pay.
