It all started with a Salty Dog... Their first date was at Nick's Crispy Tacos in San Francisco. On a Tuesday night, they both saddled up to the bar. Chaneng ordered a 'salty dog', Chris confidently said, "Same for me." When the drinks arrived, Chris took one sip and immediately spit it out. They learned a few things together that night: 1. Of the few things Chris dislikes, grapefruit juice is at the top of the list 2. They both loved good food and sports, and 3. Given the ease of non-stop conversation, this could be something!

Chris wanted to propose in Chaneng's hometown, at a place he knew would be meaningful for her. So on a sunny summer evening, Chris and Chan headed to the beach in Del Mar. They spread out a beach blanket, poured a glass of wine and watched the sunset. Just before they needed to pack up to leave for dinner, Chris suggested they dip their toes in the water. Chan was first to the water, while Chris was lagging behind. She turned around and said, "Are you coming or what?". Chris said, "I'm coming!"
