Answer

There are a few ways to get around in Bali. Arranging a car service through your hotel or air bnb is easy and transportation can range anywhere from 7 $USD-29 $USD. This route is necessary whenever you're moving your luggage from town to town. Bali's streets are not designed to accommodate cars and SUVs and if you go during rush hour a 45 minute drive could turn into two hours. Our advice is to set up most of your tours early. Getting there before everybody else helps with traffic and with having Bali's attractions to yourselves.

Question

How do I get around by motorbike?

Answer

The advantage to driving a motorbike is that you are able to navigate faster and pass by a lot of the car traffic. Driving in congested areas are not recommended for anybody who is unfamiliar with driving a motorbike. If you are interested in learning than you should practice in the rural areas before attempting to get around in Seminyak and Ubud. Also you should probably practice driving by yourself before attempting to have somebody on the back. The cost for motorbikes should be around 7 USD per day. Always wear your helmet and although rarely enforced you should get an International Drivers License just to be safe. Cruising around the rice field and jungle of N. Bali has been one of our favorite things to do. Just be aware there are intersections that don't have lights but somehow always seem to flow and driving on the sidewalk is often times considered acceptable.
