Travel Note
It is highly recommended to have a picture on your phone and printed out of your passport as you will be asked for your passport information for hotels, rental car agencies, tours etc. It will help if you do not have your passport on you.
Travel Note
Ireland is lovely because both the Shannon and Dublin airport have US customs available to do in their airports. You will not have to go through customs once you return because of this. **Please note: Once you have crossed through Passport Control in Shannon, there are no more bars or restaurants that serve Guinness. Have your last pint of Guinness before you cross.

Cash is good to have on hand however most places accept cards. Check that your card does not have foreign transaction fees. And when given the choice always choose to pay in the EUR rather than USD.
