Question

Traveling with children?

Answer

While we are limiting children at the ceremony and reception to those of immediate family members, we welcome children at the other events and the Lodge can arrange for babysitters if needed to watch children in one or more of the cabins or properties on the mountain during the ceremony and reception. If you are considering traveling with children, please reach out to Meghan or Chance.

Question

How to reach Chance and Meghan

Answer

By Email: megandchance111@gmail.com Or feel free to call or text Meghan, Chance - or even Wendy for friends of the MoB. Shoot us an email if you need our numbers!

Question

What is the attire?

Answer

We'll be on a mountain in the Winter and we really hope it snows! We will have the ceremony outside but don't worry, it won't be too long and we'll have blankets and hot beverages available to keep you warm. The reception will be inside the lodge, so anyone staying in the lodge will easily be able to return to their room for wardrobe changes or additions if needed. We recommend dressing sharp yet comfortable for the season. Some may say "Mountain Chic" ;) We'll leave that open to interpretation but think dark suits and ties, long dresses, metallic and warm colors, even plaids. Fancy boots highly encouraged!

Question

Weather Forecast

Answer

Yes, there is supposed to be some snow incoming Friday night through Saturday morning. Lydia Mountain received 9 inches of snow this past Sunday/Monday. The roads up there are mostly clear but there is still some snow and tricky parts to navigate. 4WD/AWD is definitely recommended but most front wheel drive cars should be fine for the time being. Plan for more snow and be careful. If you can get to the base of Lydia - we'll get you up here someway, somehow! Be safe and watch the weather forecast. Keep in mind Lydia is a higher elevation and generally receives more snow than the surrounding areas in Stanardsville. For reference, I drove up there Thursday (January 9th) in my AWD Subaru WRX and had no trouble (Meghan).

Question

When should we get to the Lodge on Saturday?

Answer

The ceremony starts promptly at 3:45 PM but everyone is expected to start gathering inside the lodge around 3:15 PM. If you are traveling in Saturday, please be mindful of the weather forecast and allow for extra time if it snows Friday night or Saturday morning.

For all the days along the way
