You can buy this on Amazon for about $9.00 - Comfortable shoes/sneakers as the venue is on a working vineyard - Suntan lotion - Sunglasses - Bug spray (just in case!) - Bathing suit - We suggest bringing some euros just to have them, but this is not necessary - Your dancing shoes!!
Borgo Casa al Vento has limited capacity. So unfortunately, we will not be able to extend any invite to any children as we want to ensure all of our closest family and friends are able to stay with us at the venue.
Borgo Casa al Vento will arrange transportation to and from FLC (Florence airport) or Florence Train station. Review the travel page for exact details.
Yes you can, although we recommend taking the arranged transportation as there are only 20 available spaces for parking at the venue. If you choose to drive, just give us a heads up!
The drive is 1 hour and 20 minutes from the Florence airport. You would need to obtain an International Driver's Permit (IDP) in advance. Its easy to get with an in person option (cheapest) or doing it online (more expensive). 1) Go to your nearest AAA store (you do not need to be a AAA member), bring your passport and ask for an IDP. It costs $20 and is good for 1 year. 2) Or obtain one online. Type in 'International Drivers Permit', fill out the form, pay $20 + $49.99 + shipping fee for delivery, provide your passport picture and copy of your Drivers license. DIRECTIONS: By car from Florence or Rome take the A1 (Milano-Napoli), exit at Valdarno and follow directions to Montevarchi and then the S.S. 408 towards Gaiole in Chianti. From the village of Gaiole in Chianti, follow the signs for "Borgo Casa al Vento" and Barbischio. Before entering the village of Barbischio, turn right and follow the road for 1.5 km.
In late May/early June the temperature will be in the high 70s/low 80s during the day and mid to low 60s at night. We suggest bringing a light jacket/sweater for the evening. There will be moderate humidity with a low chance of rain.

- Italy uses the Euro. Copy/Paste this link to find the daily conversion: https://www.x-rates.com/calculator/?from=EUR&to=USD&amount=1 - Tipping is not necessary but is appreciated. 10% is customary for exceptional service. - Credit cards are accepted at most places. Always choose the local currency (not US Dollars) for the transaction for the best exchange rate on your credit card at at ATMs.
YES! Here are some tips: - Italian addresses are presented differently. For example, our venue will show: Strada Comunale, 6 = # 6 on Comunale Street (Strada means street) 53013 Gaiole in Chianti, SI, Italy = zip code of 53013, then the town which is Gaiole in Chianti in Italy - Celsius is used, not fahrenheit. So if someone says its 25 degrees they mean 25 degrees celsius which translates to 77 degrees fahrenheit. - Army time is used - The ground floor of buildings or hotel lobbies are referred to as floor 0 (the 1st floor would be the 2nd floor in our terms) - Speed is in kilometers, not mph - Italians drive on the same side of the road as we do - At a restaurant, you must actually ask for the check; they'll never just bring it over as they would find that rude
- Hi! = Ciao! - Florence = Firenze - Rome = Roma - Where is the bathroom? = Dov e il bagno? - More wine please! = Piu vino per favore! - Cheers! = Saluti! - Strada = Street - Congratulations Chad & Robyn! = Congratulazioni Chad e Robyn!
Your presence at our wedding in Italy is the only gift we need! We truly appreciate you making the trip out to celebrate with us for 3 nights and only want your well wishes and company.
