Balboa Park has tons of museums, fun walks, and on the weekends you can often hear live music and street performers! We've enjoyed exploring it together several times.
The Midway is a retired Navy Aircraft Carrier turned museum! Right in the heart of downtown, it is full of history. Chad and Rachel even tried a flight simulator on board! Afterward, you can walk around the Embarcadero and see other ships or meander down to Seaport Village for some shops and entertainment.
The Creation Museum is perfect for families with kids wanting to learn animal facts (including dinosaurs), experience science, and learn about the world from a Christian point of view!
We went here on one of our first in-person dates! For all the animal lovers out there, you can spot sea lions, lots of birds, and even dolphins from time to time. It's perfect for people who like to stroll with an ocean cliff view, but there are also tons of spots for beach time too!
Coronado Beach was voted the best beach in the country a couple of years back! And the Hotel is a historic landmark with beautiful views and walkways.
Up in the mountains, Julian is a quaint little town with delicious apple pie! If you're looking for a quiet getaway, Julian has lots of hiking trails, small shops, and surrounding mountain beauty. Chad and Rachel love it up there and visited it right before they got engaged!
Not far from Julian, Laguna Mountains are perfect for getting out into nature and exploring the wilderness of the California mountain ranges! Laguna is San Diego's snow spot every winter and a great family adventure.
