We met on Sovereign Grace Singles, a reformed dating website in February 2022. Chad had been on for a while at the time when Rachel joined. She had only filled out a portion of her profile, but based on the things Rachel had mentioned, he was interested. Neither of them had a paid membership so they couldn't message on the site. Rachel had listed on her profile that her father was a pastor though, and listed her church, so Chad looked it up and found her father's church email and sent him a message. 12 hours after Rachel had set up her profile, her father got his email while the family was waiting in the dentist's office. That afternoon, Chad and her father had a long conversation, and two days later Chad and Rachel had their first zoom call! Immediately, they hit it off and knew they wanted to see what God had in store. The two of them had zoom calls almost every day and lots of texts in between. On March 11, Chad flew out to San Diego and they met in person for the first time!

Rachel was completely clueless and had no idea the fun day of adventures would end with Chad asking her to marry him! He took her out into the wildflowers of the Anzo-Borrego State Park to explore. While dancing to the song Chad had sung spontaneously over the past year, he twirled around and landed on one knee! Rachel was so surprised she had to process it for fifteen seconds. She said yes! As the sun set over the mountains, and the wildflowers blew in the breeze, the two looked forward to their future together.
