Where is the venue located?

Answer

The address is 1000 County Road 78, Bremen, AL 35033. It is located 45 minutes north of downtown Birmingham, AL, and 60 minutes south of Huntsville, AL. The property sits on 40 private acres of rustic farmland overlooking beautiful Smith Lake, the 3rd cleanest lake in the country!

What is the dress code?

Answer

Black-tie optional. Tuxedos and formal gowns are welcome but not required. Guests may also choose a dark suit with a tie, a cocktail dress, or an elegant evening outfit.

Where should I stay?

Answer

As Smith Lake is a popular lake destination in Alabama, we recommend booking lakefront properties from vacation rental sites, such as Airbnb and VRBO. Alternatively, hotels are available in Cullman, AL nearby. Of note, the venue has a house, Cape NOLA, also available to rent for the weekend. Given the large number of guests that are planning to stay on the lake for the weekend, we are not reserving a hotel block.

How do I get to Smith Lake?

Answer

We recommend traveling by car (personal vehicle or rental car) via I-65 from the north or south. The closest airports are located in Birmingham (BHM) (1 hr drive) and Huntsville (HSV) (1 hr 10 min drive).

Are children invited?

Answer

We absolutely love children, but have chosen to have an adults-only celebration to allow all guests to relax and fully enjoy the day. We understand that this may require some extra planning, and we truly appreciate your understanding. Thank you for celebrating with us!

What is the parking situation?

There is plenty of parking available in the lot at the venue.

What do you expect weather to look like?

Answer

Average temperatures for September offer highs from the mid-to-low 80s °F and lows from the mid-to-low 60s °F. Pack sunscreen and a bathing suit!

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be outdoors, with cocktail hour leading guests into the barn. Our reception will be indoors.

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

If your invitation includes a plus one, they are more than welcome to attend. Unfortunately, we’re unable to accommodate additional guests beyond those listed on the invitation. We appreciate your understanding!

When should I arrive to the wedding?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00 pm. We recommend arriving no later than 4:45 pm to allow time to find a seat and get settled prior to start time.
