Jack and Celicia met at a Catholic conference in the spring of 2021 in the canyons of Orange County. Celicia was still considering her transfer to California State University of Long Beach and Jack was serving as a missionary with FOCUS at said school. Both were at pivotal points in their lives as well as in relationships so accepted each other as acquaintances and moved on through the summer. That fall, Celicia made the decision to transfer to CSULB in the Industrial Design program. Celicia moved in with two of the female FOCUS missionaries, Luisa Paulina and Myla Watts (previously Myla Wolff), bringing Jack to their apartment often for meetings and work. Celicia joined a surfing class wanting to embrace the culture of Huntington Beach, the surfing capital of the world, while she was in school. Little did she know that Jack also showed up during those times on the beach to shred the waves before heading to campus to work. Many mornings would end in sitting on the beach and talking about life. Slowly their acquaintance grew into an honest and respectful friendship. March 13th 2022, Celicia and Jack went on their first date in Seal Beach, walking down the pier to enjoy the sunset with corn dogs and lemonade in hand. The next year would bring great hardship into the Gyetvai family, but Celicia and Jack only grew closer in prayer and relationship. September 10th 2023, on the little island of Catalina off the coast Los Angeles, Jack asked Celicia if she would join her life to his in total death of self to the other. In great pleasure and honor, SHE SAID YES!! Now they prepare their lives for each other! Please pray for them on their journey to start their marriage in blessing!
