Question

Important COVID Updates (as of August 23rd):

Answer

In light of the recent surge of COVID cases due to the Delta variant, we have had to adjust our plans in order to ensure the safety of everyone who will be attending our wedding: If you are unvaccinated (or partially vaccinated), we kindly ask that you get a COVID test done within 48-72 hours prior to your arrival in Crested Butte and submit your negative test result to mcmillerwedding21@gmail.com --OR-- If you are fully vaccinated, we request that you please submit proof of vaccination to mcmillerwedding21@gmail.com For the safety of everyone, we strongly encourage all guests to wear masks inside the reception tent when approaching the buffet and dessert table. Hand sanitizer and masks will be readily available throughout the cocktail and reception space. We appreciate your patience and understanding in helping to preserve the health and safety of all those that we hold near and dear!

Question

Do you have any recommendations on where to stay?

Answer

Crested Butte is a small, mountain town in a relatively remote area of Colorado. Understandably, there aren't as many lodging options as there would be in a larger metro area. The wedding festivities will be taking place in the town of Crested Butte. Some additional lodging options are located in Mt. Crested Butte, which is 3 miles up the road from the town of CB, and is where the mountain resort is located. Another option for lodging is in CB South, which is a mostly residential community located about 10 minutes southeast of the town of CB. If you're willing to drive a bit further, there are also lodging options in the unincorporated small community of Almont and the larger town of Gunnison. Almont is about 18 miles from CB and Gunnison is 28 miles. Gunnison is the largest of the towns in the area and has multiple hotels and motels, not to mention the regional airport.

Question

Important note regarding libations and transportation:

Answer

After the wedding there will be a shuttle service from 9pm - 1am between Crested Butte/Mount Crested Butte/Crested Butte South. Due to limited availability we recommend those who can to please walk to the free Mountain Express Bus Shuttle which runs every 20 minutes from 6th/Belleview or at 6th/Elk Avenue. Both Crested Butte and Gunnison area are smaller mountain communities and therefore do not have the same reliability for ride share services (Uber, Lyft, etc) as larger cities. Ride share services and taxis may not always be available last minute, so it is best to plan ahead if you are planning on drinking. A free shuttle runs to/from both Crested Butte to Mt. Crested Butte until 11:40pm (The Mountain Express Bus Shuttle), as well as Gunnison to Crested Butte (Gunnison Valley RTA) until 11:30pm. Additional options for transportation (including airport pickup) are Alpine express (https://alpine.letsride.co) and Dolly's Mountain Shuttle (https://www.crestedbutteshuttle.com).

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for the wedding is Mountain Chic. The ceremony and reception will both be taking place outdoors and on grass - so ladies keep those stilettos at home! The temperatures can drop quite a bit at night so make sure to bring layers. Additionally, keep an eye on the forecast when packing - Colorado sometimes likes to surprise us with inclement weather.

Question

If you are coming from sea level...

Answer

Please pay attention to your body, drink PLENTY of water and be careful with your alcohol consumption! The town of Crested Butte is at 8,885ft elevation and some of the surrounding trails are at 10,000ft or higher. Be mindful of symptoms of altitude sickness (see link listed below). Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Both ceremony and reception will be held in the same location. There is a small parking lot at the venue, but parking is somewhat limited. There is additional parking across the street from the venue, but we highly encourage carpooling, if possible!

Question

What else is there to do in the area?

Answer

Crested Butte and the surrounding area has endless opportunities for outdoor adventure in the summer. We have many favorite hikes nearby, but you can also go ATV/off roading, horseback riding, fishing, mountain biking, golfing, rafting, kayaking, or simply drive around and soak up the incredible mountain views! Check out the "Thing To Do" tab for more information.
