We could spend days at a time in this amazing behemoth of a bookstore. Don't miss it!
So beautiful. A perfect respite from a hectic weekend. The spectacular Portland Rose Test Garden is across the street and Hoyt Arboretum is up the road!
A wonderful art collection showcasing local artists graces the top six floors of the building. Take the elevator to the top, where you will find gallery space on either side and spectacular city views. Once you've perused the artwork to your heart's content, take the staircase beside the elevator down a floor and lather, rinse, repeat. If you want to work off cake in advance, start six floors down from the top and work your way up!
With its perfect climate for rose cultivation and annual rose festival, it's no wonder Portland is know as "Rose City". June finds the city's roses in full bloom. In fact, more than 10,000 individual rose bushes bloom in the International Rose Test Garden (IRTG) from late May through October, representing over 610 different rose varieties. It's spectacular!
Hoyt Arboretum encompasses 190 ridge-top acres and 12 miles of hiking trails just minutes from downtown Portland. Home to 2,300 species of trees and shrubs from six continents, it's a great place to commune with nature!
Stroll across scenic wooden bridges, past rushing waterfalls and lush foliage, to a small, still lake filled with over sixty species of waterfowl. This gem of a garden is well worth the visit and is one of our favorite places.
Division is a great place to shop, eat, and soak up the heart of Portland. Don't miss Lauretta Jeanne's for ridiculously good pie!
