Commonly asked questions about the weekend. If you have another question not listed here, please text or call Tim at 908-914-1039.
Question

What is the Welcome Party?

Answer

Come celebrate with us! The appetizers and drinks are on us so please bring good vibes. Dress code is elevated casual.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Welcome Party: elevated casual. Tim will be wearing a button-down, khakis, and sneakers. Celene will be looking gorgeous. Wedding: cocktail attire. We suggest men should wear a suit and tie, a jacket is optional. We suggest women wear a dress. The theme is green and wild flowers.

Question

Will there be any transporation provided?

Answer

No, we are not providing transportation. Good news: everything is close! The venue and Sentinel hotel are a 9 minute Lyft/Uber ride apart. Rose City Radio Cab also provides old-school taxi services if that is more your style. Likewise, renting eScooters or eBikes (via Lime or Uber app) is very affordable, plentiful, and fun!

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

By 6pm. We will begin the ceremony promptly at 6:30pm. Because the venue is located within a public nursery, we cannot enter the wedding venue before 6pm.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be inside or outside?

Answer

Both! This is the venue website: https://www.blockhousepdx.com/ It is essentially a covered venue amidst a nursery.

Question

What should I do in Portland on Saturday before the wedding?

Answer

You have so many options! The Saturday Market on the Water Front is a great mix of Portland-centered vendors and has been running for 52 years: https://www.portlandsaturdaymarket.com/ The International Rose Garden hosts over 600+ types of roses, is free to the public, and close to both hotels. It is extremely popular in late May: https://www.portland.gov/parks/washington-park-international-rose-test-garden Speaking of roses, the Rose Festival will be going on including the City Fair, the Rose City Street Mile, and a Junior Parade: https://www.rosefestival.org/events We also recommend checking out the extensive amount of Oregon wineries and breweries in the area!

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There is plenty of street parking at the venue. We strongly recommend confirming the street parking rates if you drive.

Question

Is there anything else I should know?

Answer

Please be aware that there is another wedding venue on the same block called Castaway, which is a large blue building. There will be signs on the sidewalk to direct you to the entrance of BlockHouse and Pomarious Nursery.
