UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens
Admission is free to this small garden. The garden is open during daylight hours and the greenhouse is open 9am-4pm Monday through Saturday and 1pm-4pm on Sunday.
Reedy Creek Nature Center & Nature Preserve
Explore 10 miles of hiking trails in this urban park. While immersed in nature, you may happen upon the remnants of an 18th-century stone dwelling, nice water views, and of course, the creek.
U.S. National Whitewater Center
The center features whitewater rafting, kayaking, biking, zip lines, and craft beer. (We recommend visiting during off peak times such as weekdays.)
The McGill Rose Garden
The flowers should be kicking into full bloom at this time of year! There's no admission fee and it's open to the public Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 4pm.
Camp North End
The former site of a factory has been transformed into a hub for restaurants and shops, featuring al fresco dining and outdoor food stalls.
What the Fries
This Black-owned food truck (and soon to be restaurant) serves up loaded fries, mac and cheese, and chicken sandwiches at various locations around town. Check their schedule online to see if they'll be somewhere convenient to you!
