Believe it or not, our story started in a video game. Brendan joined my game and jokingly kept calling me “his wife”. This turned out to be a little more prophetic than either of us expected. As we kept talking, we realized we weren’t worlds apart after all, just four hours away. We decided to meet halfway at a small spot that still feels like it belongs just to us. From the moment we met, everything clicked. It felt easy, natural. Like we had known each other forever. What was meant to be a simple first date turned into a day full of adventure, laughter, and a connection neither of us wanted to end. The next day, Brendan headed back to Texas, and we said goodbye not knowing that this was only the beginning of something much bigger. After just one visit to see him, it became clear that we didn’t want to do life apart. So Brendan made the leap and moved his whole life here. Somewhere along the way, we stopped thinking of “home” as a place, and found it in each other.
