Old Town Alexandria has charming cobblestone streets, waterfront views, great shops, and lots of places to eat and drink. Some of our Old Town favorites are Union Street, Josephine, The People's Drug, and Hank's Oyster Bar. Old Town is also home to the King Street Metro stop.
A 20 minute drive from Alexandria, Georgetown is known for its historic row houses, great shopping, and waterfront spots.
Theodore Roosevelt Island is one of our favorite summer activities. Located in the middle of the Potomac River, Roosevelt Island is a fun way to get some exercise and close out the summer. Roosevelt Island has limited parking and is also a short walk from the Rosslyn, VA metro station.
Washington, DC is home to many wonderful and FREE museums. Caroline recommends the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden and Phillip's favorite is the National Air and Space Museum.
