We're getting hitched

When we were both down on our luck in the dating world, we had decided to give a dating app a try. Swiping through the results of people who met our criteria, we were both drawn to each other's profiles and very excited when we saw we had matched. After a few days of texts and calls to get to know each other better, we had planned our first date: a back-roads drive to Grand Haven to watch the sun set over the lake. We had an hour to listen to each other's tastes in music and ask conversation-starter questions such as, "Do you like Studio Ghibli movies?" We were hitting it off and laughing as we got lost and drove in circles. After finally making our way to the parking lot and climbing up the sand dunes, we had found ourselves atop the highest hill, overlooking the boat docks and Lake Michigan beach shore. We missed most of the sunset, but the view of the boat lights reflecting off the waters in the twilight was well worth the hike. This was the beginning of a new chapter in our lives.
