Created in 1886, Dr. William Seward Webb and Eliza Osgood Vanderbilt Webb commissioned famous landscape architect Frederick Law Olmstead to guide the layout of this 1,400 acre agricultural estate. Visitors today enjoy walking trails, the farmyard, inn, restaurant, and property tours of this National Historic Landmark.

Snake Mountain is a great hike that is a about a 20 minute drive from Basin Harbor. The hike is a moderate 4.5 mile hike with a beautiful view of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains at the top.
