Expect a relaxed and intimate celebration, with stunning views, great food, and plenty of time to enjoy each other’s company. Think of it as a vacation first, a wedding second! We’ll have plenty of time to explore the area, relax, and, of course, celebrate together (see the itinerary tab - coming soon - for details of all wedding-related events).
Yes! Check to see if your passport is VALID and not EXPIRED. You will need it to arrive in Mexico. To be safe, renew your passport if it expires within 6 months before the wedding (date of expiration is October 3, 2026).
While a local wedding is more traditional, we knew that many of you would need to travel no matter where we had it. So instead of making it just a day-long event, we thought, "Why not turn this into a full experience?" Our families and friends are spread out all over, so we decided to send you all to a beautiful location and make the wedding a mini vacation! This way, not only can we celebrate with you in a stunning setting, but everyone also gets a chance to relax, unwind, and enjoy the moment together.
The actual wedding ceremony and reception are at a private, third-party beach owned by a wedding planning company called Blue Venado. We ultimately decided against having our wedding at a resort because we wanted to make our wedding personalized to fit our ~vibe~ and to accommodate the stay for all of our guests. We learned that getting married at a resort restricted our guests to staying in one place, limiting their choice of where to stay, and we didn't like that. However, we have compiled a list of reputable resorts, and are looking into booking a block of rooms for our guests to stay at, should they choose to stay at the same resort as us and our wedding party - but no pressure!
We are looking into reserving a block of rooms at one resort for our guests who wish to stay at the same place as us and our wedding party. Check back later, using the "Travel and Stay" tab to learn more. If you do not want to stay at the resort with our block of rooms, that is no problem! You can stay wherever you'd like in the Riviera Maya for our wedding week. Please note that you will have to accommodate your own transportation to the wedding ceremony at the private beach, as our shuttle service will only pick up/drop off at the resort with the block of rooms for most guests. In that case, we recommend calling a cab in advance.
Absolutely! While the official wedding events will start on 4/2/26, feel free to extend your stay and make it your own getaway.
You can bring whoever you'd like on vacation with you! Please do that! However, only invited guests and plus-ones for the wedding and reception itself. On our actual wedding day, we can only accommodate guests formally included on your wedding invitation. If you receive a +1, their name will appear with yours when you RSVP. Once our invitations go out, you can RSVP directly through our website. Thank you so much for understanding!
The ceremony & cocktail hour will be held on the beach, while dinner & reception will be held in an open-air, covered space. A mix of formal and cocktail attire is excellent! We will have the rest of the trip to lean into the casual, beachy vibes. "Cocktail attire" refers to a semi-formal dress code, meaning you should dress up nicely but not as formally as a black-tie event; a balance between elegance and comfort while still looking polished and put together! Have fun with patterns, colors, and textures :) Ladies: NO white, off-white, eggshell, ivory, or "mostly" white-ish dresses. A good rule of thumb is to wear something else if you have to ask! A cocktail, midi, or maxi/long dress would be perfect! Guys: Consider lighter, breathable cotton or linen for tops and bottoms. Otherwise, we recommend dress pants and a dress shirt. Ties are optional! * NO shorts, denim, or flip-flops, please! * (as the night goes on, no shoes- no problem :) )
If you are interested in celebrating with a gift, we ask that you do not bring it with you to Mexico, due to the international travel rules/claims + no one needs extra baggage weight! Please refer to our registry tab on our site if interested.
Most bars, restaurants, and stores accept credit cards! However, you should carry cash for things like taxis, smaller purchases and tips. We recommend exchanging money ahead of time through your bank, but there are ATMs available if needed. *Remember to alert your Credit Card company that you are traveling internationally*
The current exchange rate is ~20 MXN pesos = $1 US Dollar
The Riviera Maya has the one of the lowest crime rates in all of Mexico. The locals understand how much tourism boosts their economy and are very welcoming to travelers! Of course, you should exercise common sense when traveling in the area: lock your doors, keep your passport in a safe, be mindful of your valuables, etc. Basically be smart and use common sense.
