Expect a relaxed and intimate celebration, with stunning views, great food, and plenty of time to enjoy each other’s company. Think of it as a vacation first, a wedding second! We’ll have plenty of time to explore the area, relax, and, of course, celebrate together (see the itinerary tab - coming soon - for details of all wedding-related events).
Yes! Check to see if your passport is VALID and not EXPIRED. You will need it to arrive in Mexico. To be safe, renew your passport if it expires within 6 months before the wedding (date of expiration is October 3, 2026).
While a local wedding is more traditional, we knew that many of you would need to travel no matter where we had it. So instead of making it just a day-long event, we thought, "Why not turn this into a full experience?" Our families and friends are spread out all over, so we decided to send you all to a beautiful location and make the wedding a mini vacation! This way, not only can we celebrate with you in a stunning setting, but everyone also gets a chance to relax, unwind, and enjoy the moment together.
If you do not RSVP by January. 1 2026, you will be marked as "not attending". We would love to celebrate with you, however, we have to provide an exact guest count to our vendors for food, drink and seating and cannot accommodate late RSVPs.
The welcome party the night before will be at the resort we are staying at: Platinum Yucatan Princess. ------------- The actual wedding ceremony and reception are at a private, third-party beach owned by a wedding planning company called Blue Venado. We ultimately decided against having our wedding at a resort because we wanted to make our wedding personalized to fit our ~vibe~ and to accommodate the stay for all of our guests. We learned that getting married at a resort restricted our guests to staying in one place, limiting their choice of where to stay, and we didn't like that. However, we have compiled a list of reputable resorts, and are looking into booking a block of rooms for our guests to stay at, should they choose to stay at the same resort as us and our wedding party - but no pressure!
We looked into it, but securing a room block at the Platinum Yucatan Princess turned out to be surprisingly pricey, with no real savings passed on to guests. Instead, we recommend booking individually to take advantage of better rates as they pop up. We’ll be at the resort from March 28 to April 6, 2026, and you’re absolutely welcome to stay there too! That said, we strongly suggest holding off on booking until Fall 2025 or Winter 2026, as the hotel tends to release much better deals closer to the travel date. For reference, we booked the same resort for a Spring 2025 trip about a month in advance—and paid a fraction of what’s currently being quoted for March/April 2026. Keep an eye out for deals, and don’t stress—we’ll all end up poolside together soon enough! --- If you do not want to stay at the resort with our block of rooms, that is no problem! You can stay wherever you'd like in the Riviera Maya for our wedding week. Please note that you will have to accommodate your own transportation to the wedding ceremony at the private beach, as our shuttle service will only pick up/drop off at the resort with the block of rooms for most guests. In that case, we recommend calling a cab in advance.
Absolutely! While the official wedding events will start on 4/2/26, feel free to extend your stay and make it your own getaway.
You can bring whoever you'd like on vacation with you! Please do that! You also are welcome to bring whoever your travel buddy is to the welcome party at the resort, the night before the wedding. When you RSVP, please make sure to indicate if you are planning to bring someone with you to the welcome party, just so that we have a headcount leading up to the event! However, only invited guests and plus-ones for the wedding and reception itself. On our actual wedding day, we can only accommodate guests formally included on your wedding invitation. If you receive a +1, their name will appear with yours when you RSVP. Once our invitations go out, you can RSVP directly through our website. Thank you so much for understanding!
We recommend that you arrive at least 30-40 minutes before our 5:00pm ceremony time (an hour before if you operate on "Cuban time"... lol). This gives us enough time to be on schedule!
We’re currently finalizing the transportation company we’ll be working with and will share details soon. Our plan is to provide shuttle service for all guests staying at the Platinum Yucatan Princess to and from the wedding venue. Why this matters: The venue is fairly secluded and located within a gated area, so we don’t recommend relying on taxis — even if you pre-schedule one, it can be tricky to access the location. Staying at the same resort as most guests (Platinum Yucatan Princess) will make things much smoother on wedding day — and hopping on the shuttle will ensure you get to the ceremony on time. More info coming soon — stay tuned!
Welcome Party (the night before the wedding) - La Noche Blanca: The theme for our welcome party the night before is La Noche Blanca — a rooftop celebration under the stars where everyone wears white. Think of this as your one chance to rock white at a wedding event (since we all know who gets to wear it on the big day!). --------- Wedding day: The ceremony & cocktail hour will be held on the beach, while dinner & reception will be held in an open-air, covered space. A mix of formal and cocktail attire is excellent! We will have the rest of the trip to lean into the casual, beachy vibes. "Cocktail attire" refers to a semi-formal dress code, meaning you should dress up nicely but not as formally as a black-tie event; a balance between elegance and comfort while still looking polished and put together! Have fun with patterns, colors, and textures :) Ladies: NO white, off-white, eggshell, ivory, or "mostly" white-ish dresses. A good rule of thumb is to wear something else if you have to ask! A cocktail, midi, or maxi/long dress would be perfect! Guys: Consider lighter, breathable cotton or linen for tops and bottoms. Otherwise, we recommend dress pants and a dress shirt. Ties are optional! * NO shorts, denim, or flip-flops, please! * (as the night goes on, no shoes- no problem :) )
If you are interested in celebrating with a gift, we ask that you do not bring it with you to Mexico, due to the international travel rules/claims + no one needs extra baggage weight! Please refer to our registry tab on our site if interested.
Most bars, restaurants, and stores accept credit cards! However, you should carry cash for things like taxis, smaller purchases and tips. We recommend exchanging money ahead of time through your bank, but there are ATMs available if needed. *Remember to alert your Credit Card company that you are traveling internationally*
The current exchange rate is ~20 MXN pesos = $1 US Dollar
The Riviera Maya has the one of the lowest crime rates in all of Mexico. The locals understand how much tourism boosts their economy and are very welcoming to travelers! Of course, you should exercise common sense when traveling in the area: lock your doors, keep your passport in a safe, be mindful of your valuables, etc. Basically be smart and use common sense.
