Dane County Farmers' Market
The Dane County Farmers' Market is held on the Capitol Square every Saturday from 6:15am to 1:45pm. It is the largest producer-only farmers' market in the country. Swing by for fresh produce, local blooms, squeaky cheese curds, or the people watching!
Brewgrass Fridays at the Edgewater
Charlie Parr will be performing at the Edgewater Grand Plaza on Friday, June 21, starting at 5:00pm as a part of the Edgewater's "Brewgrass Fridays." Enjoy some sweet summer tunes and a classic Wisconsin Fish Fry on what is sure to be a steamy night by the lake.
Memorial Union Terrace
If you're looking for a quintessential Madison experience, the Terrace is a must see! Soak up the sun in the iconic sunburst chairs or check out the Union's paddle board and kayak rentals and venture out on Lake Mendota. Come for the beautiful lake views, stay for the cold pitchers of Spotted Cow.
Olbrich Botanical Gardens
Nestled in the bosom of Madison's Olbrich Botanical Gardens is the renown Thai Royal Pavilion, or "sala," one of only four of its kind outside of Thailand. The site of the Pavilion was chosen because of its stunning garden setting and proximity to water, which holds implications of good health and prosperity in Thailand. When you're done exploring the Gardens, mosey on over to the Biergarten at Olbrich Park to enjoy a pint overlooking Lake Monona. **EDIT: Unfortunately, the Pavilion is currently closed due to renovations, but the rest of Olbrich Gardens and the adjacent Biergarten remain open**
Picnic Point
A nearly mile-long peninsula along Lake Mendota's south shore, Picnic Point is one of Madison's most distinctive features. A great destination for those looking for a bike ride, run, or casual hike.
University Ridge Golf Course
University Ridge is the home course of the University of Wisconsin's golf teams and is recognized as one of the top college courses in the country. U-Ridge also hosts the annual PGA Tour Champions' American Family Insurance Championship.
The Boathouse
A little hidden gem right next to our venue that we have frequented over the years. The Boathouse's sunset views over Lake Mendota are unmatched, as are their cheese curds, fish tacos, and margaritas!
Tornado Steak House
Known locally as "Tornado Room," the Tornado Steak House is a little slice of a rural Wisconsin supper club situated right off the Square of Downtown Madison. Its tagline, "Famous for Steaks," rings true in every regard, but Tornado Room also delivers a mean old fashioned that pairs nicely with the establishment's distinctly Wisconsin vibe.
Sardine
Upon entering Sardine, you'd be forgiven for thinking that you had just been transported to a quaint bistro situated in France's Côte d'Azur. Alas, the body of water you see out Sardine's back windows is not the Mediterranean Sea but Madison's own Lake Monona. But that doesn't mean Sardine can't play the role convincingly. The moules frites and oysters are served fresh, and their specialty absinthe cocktails are strong enough to make anyone think they're in France.
