Our Story

First comes love, then comes marriage...

Kirstie and Ryan first met at the Lebanon Dairy Queen in 2013. Ryan had worked there on and off, but Kirstie was new. They still remember the first time they met. They were friends/co-workers for 2 years. In the Spring of 2015, something changed... Kirstie was finding herself sweeping a little slower or offering to mop after they closed. Basically any excuse to stay a little later - just the two of them. Kirstie and Ryan both knew something was there, but they didn't say anything. They started hanging out more and going on dates. Kirstie and Ryan officially started dating on June 24, 2015. At the end of that season, they decided they weren't going to return the next year. In December 2015, Ryan told Kirstie he had two job offers. Inside, she was really hoping he'd accept the one closer to home. A month later, he accepted the job in Columbus. Kirstie knew she had to go with him, but couldn't just yet. He started his new job a few days before Kirstie's 19th birthday. Kirstie was really bummed that he wouldn't be there for her birthday. On her birthday, Ryan called... He asked what she was doing tonight to celebrate. She told him she didn't want to do anything until he was back in town that weekend. He said, "What if I told you I'm in your driveway right now?" Kirstie sprinted outside! He had gotten off work early, and drove down just to go to dinner with her. At this point, they had been dating about 6 months. Kirstie had known he was "The One" pretty early on in their relationship. The fact that he drove 3 hours round trip just to have dinner with her for an hour confirmed that he was definitely "The One". After spending what felt like the longest two weeks ever apart, they moved in together in late January 2016. They've leaned on each other during the hard times, and together celebrated the great times. On March 29, 2019, in our apartment, just the two of us, Ryan asked Kirstie to be his wife! They're beyond excited to spend the rest of their lives together!
