Stone Arch begins on the east side of the river in an area called St. Anthony Main. This is a beautiful area for walks and is always full of active people. If you cross the bridge and go left you can settle in at gold medal park and eat ice cream from a nearby shop called Izzy's.
Bauhaus is a great brewery in NE Minneapolis, which is a great area for food and beer. Other breweries nearby include 612 Brew, Able Brewing, and Indeed Brewing.
We went here for a birthday celebration. Great comedy club if you are looking for a fun night out on Saturday.
We first visited glam doll during our college years and just keep going back because the donuts are oh so good.
This area has a ton of stuff to do: kayaking, walking the trails, biking, eat at Burger Jones, etc. The lake's name just changed from Lake Calhoun to Bde Maka Ska so if you are asking a local they may respond better to Lake Calhoun.
An obvious tourist destination but we would be remiss not to include it.
