Unfortunately, yes. It is with a heavy heart that we are writing today to inform you that due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to postpone our wedding celebration. While we have not chosen a new date yet, we wanted to let you know as soon as possible so that you have the time to cancel your travel arrangements. Please stay tuned for our new wedding date. Your health is of utmost importance to us, and we have no doubt that when we can come together and celebrate, it will be just as magical as we originally imagined. Love, Us
Wedding planning is full of hiccups, however a recommendation like the one from the CDC on 3/15/20 is not typically one of them. The CDC's current recommendation is for all events of 50+ people be canceled for eight weeks. Our wedding falls on the following week, but more stringent recommendations may come, and even if they do not, not all of you may feel safe traveling by mid-May. We recognize that the timing of our decision may impact your ability to receive a refund on travel expenses. Therefore, we plan to make a final decision about whether or not postponing our wedding will be necessary by April 1, while aware that travel restrictions from health officials could evolve. We hope to be able to celebrate our big day with all of you in May but we also want to ensure the health and safety of our loved ones.
Dress to impress, but also dress for the elements (sun, sand and water) - anything you'd wear to a nice restaurant on a summer night is appropriate.
We won't have a registry for our wedding. We are excited to spend our special day with all of you and appreciate the time and effort you're spending to be there with us. We don't expect any gifts, however if you're so inclined, please send any items to our home address (below). Your presence is the best gift we could ask for! 710 East 200 South #5G Salt Lake City, UT 84102
We're planning to modify this answer to incorporate once the ten-day forecast is available for May 16th and update it each day following. May is a variable month weather-wise, so we'll do our best to keep you posted on what to expect!
