This is our treasure next door - A wonderful 900 acre wooded state park filled with biking paths, walking trails, and gorgeous, crystal clear swimming ponds (more like lakes). Only $5 for a day pass.
An old fashioned general store that is a must-visit for anyone with kids. Full of treasures for adults, too! Candy, small toys, memorabilia, Cape Cod goodies.
One of the few remaining drive in theaters in the country. So much fun. Also they have a great little mini-golf course!
Wonderful sanctuary on the bayside. 5 miles of trails through salt marshes, woodlands and beaches, plus a nature center and lots of opportunity for bird watching and learning about the Cape's diverse wildlife. Great spot to take the kids!
A simply perfect spot for a sunset beach walk. A local favorite, parking can be tricky but it's worth trying.
Nice spot on the harbor for oysters, fried or fresh seafood, sandwiches, ice cream and more. Outdoor seating at picnic tables only. For a finer-diner experience (and great cocktails at their outdoor bar) try Mac's Restaurant right up the street.
Vanessa's go-to for burgers & ice cream, this family-run establishment is top notch for all things fried and beachy. Just outside of downtown Wellfleet on Rte. 6, you can't miss it. They have a huge following with locals so you know it's good! Extensive menu offers good healthy options too.
This is one of Catherine's favorite local spots.....Want to get off the beaten path and have a truly unique Cape Cod adventure? Hike out to Pochet Island, next to Nauset Beach. It's magical!
A few cuts above typical fast food - yummy burgers, fish tacos, and more. And it won't break the bank!
Anyone into birds needs to visit this store. It's truly special!
Great little rustic "neo-pagan" restaurant in N. Truro with charm galore and some seriously tasty locally-sourced seafood, pasta dishes and desserts. The hummingbird cake is out of this world. Tell Tony P. we sent ya!
One of those "must do" activities - and it really is! Several types of whales live in or pass through Cape Cod Bay, and they are all amazing to see up close. Dolphin Fleet offers 3 hour cruises that go out 2 to 3 times per day.
If you're going to come all the way to the Outer Cape, you can't NOT visit Provincetown - one of the most wonderfully unique and beautiful towns in the United States. Full of rich history, arts & culture, fun shops, galleries, and restaurants, all served up with a touch of salty sea dog grit, a huge dollop of LGBTQ flair, and a cosmopolitan twist. Vanessa's home for almost 10 years, you simply won't find anywhere else like it. Be sure to check out the Ptown Monument & Museum for an amazing view of Cape Cod Bay and fantastic exhibits. Worth the climb to the top!
Another Provincetown staple, these fantastic tours take you oversand to the famous and vast Ptown dunes, a huge area protected by the National Seashore. You'll get artist dune shack sightings, a bit of history, and of course the beautiful Atlantic ocean. Very fun and very interesting, and the guides are always great.
This is conveniently located off Route 6A in Brewster and features a small aquarium, live animal exhibits, interactive exhibits, nature programs, and wonderful hiking trails out to the beaches nearby. It honestly is a hit with children and educational, too!
