Short answer - it depends. July & August are the busiest months so you can count on some traffic at any time. Friday evenings and Saturday mornings see the most incoming traffic, if you can avoid those we suggest it. If you can't, plan accordingly knowing that it will add time to you trip. If you can stay over Sunday night and leave Monday, we recommend that too!
Great question! There's a free public lot right across the street from the Hall. If you can't find a spot there, try the next public lot up on Main street, behind town hall. Still looking? Street parking is available to non-residents. Last ditch, there's plenty of parking down at the harbor.
Absolutely! We are expecting lots of young ones ranging from 1 - 13 years old, and looking forward to including them in the celebration. So if you are bringing your child, he/she will have company and lawn games to enjoy. And did we mention the ICE CREAM TRUCK??!! Our hope is that the kids have as much fun as the adults!
Yup, and beautiful ones at that! The Hall is equipped with 6 restrooms total, two of which are handicapped accessible. There's also an elevator in the building.
July is typically a gorgeous month with daytime temps averaging in the upper 70's, evenings in the mid-60's. Bring a light sweater or jacket for cooler breezes. In general, summer temperatures here are slightly milder than inland, but it still gets warm, even occasionally hot - and perfect for shorts, flip flops, sunning and swimming.
Wonderful! It's a small, quintessential New England seaside village, complete with lovingly restored clapboard cottages, gorgeous beaches and kettle ponds, a lively arts and surf culture, and a rich history of shellfishing. Like oysters? Wellfleet is famous for them! You're gonna fall in love....
Well, they're here. Certain varieties of sharks have always resided in our oceans and bay, but the increasing presence of the Great White has caused alarm in our beach communities. Measures are being taken by state and town officials to step up education, preparedness and safety services. Still concerned? Stick to the bay beaches in Brewster or Wellfleet, or hit the beautiful kettle ponds which are 100% shark-free. There are several in Brewster, Wellfleet, and Truro.
